This handbook is developed to support local facilitators and trainers to actively promote better understanding of social equity and climate change issues at the grassroots level. It provides them with useful reference materials to facilitate the learning process and capacity development activities for improved forest management.

A series of 10 questions and answers on key aspects of social equity in forest management, climate change and REDD+ is discussed in this handbook for facilitators’ practical use. It discusses basic concepts of social equity, and its applications, with existing related policies in forest management, climate change and REDD+ and what capacity development is required to effectively achieve equity in the context of forests and climate change.
