This workshop highlights the importance of gender in natural resource management and specific actions to realize better roles for women. Participants will be exposed to gender mainstreaming interventions in sustainable resource management, particularly through interactions and discussions with gender experts in the field, and through a visit to a community in Thailand to draw on-the-ground and direct lessons.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
• Recognize the importance of gender mainstreaming in resource management such forestry and other fields;
• Identify strategies, tools and approaches that are crucial to formulate and implement gender-sensitive project/program;
• Share experiences, best practices and practical knowledge on gender mainstreaming;
• Develop action plan for the application of gender sensitive resource management.
