Participatory Action Research for Community-Based Natural Resource Management

Participatory Action Research for Community-Based Natural Resource Management

Training course on experiential learning within communities

Because blueprint approaches address issues from the top down, the dominance of blueprint planning in natural resource management has created a disconnect between current professional practices and what is needed for meaningful participation and responsive processes.

Participatory Action Research, on the other hand, incorporates multiple perspectives and enables critical reflection and context-specific, responsive experiential learning.

Aims and Objectives

This training focuses on enhancing the skills of professionals in Participatory Action Research (PAR) and encourages them to share and implement the approach within their organizations.

The course will enable you to:

  • Understand and examine the concepts and principles of PAR
  • Explore practical opportunities and challenges to community-based natural resource management
  • Critically evaluate the applicability of PAR for natural resource management in real-world contexts

Who Should Attend?

Senior decision makers, project managers, and middle-level fieldworkers who work in community-based natural resource management
